Giggs saves United Point

Ryan Giggs headed home a late leveler to help Manchester United to a 1-1 draw with Celtic at Celtic Park in UEFA Champions League action on Wednesday. With the win Man U take a step closer to the elimination round, while Celtic is still searching for their first win in Group E.
Celtic has struggled in their first three matches of the Champions League campaign failing to score in the opening rounds but got a dream start against Manchester United. Scott McDonald lobbed his volley over the head of Man U stand-in keeper Ben Foster in the 13th minute.
The opening goal served as a wake up call to the Champions League holders and they applied consistent pressure through efforts from Cristiano Ronaldo, Rio Ferdinand, Dimitar Berbatov but could not break through until Giggs headed home the leveler in the 84th minute.
The goal was set up by a powerful Ronaldo shot from 20 yards that forced Celtic keeper Artur Boruc to parry the ball away but unfortunately for the home side it was Giggs who beat the defense to the ball to head it home from inside the six yard box.
With the point, United are on top of the table with 8 points while Celtic is in third place with 2 points. Matchday 5 has two interesting fixtures as Manchester will play second place Villarreal, who is also sitting on 8 points, with the top spot from the group on the line while Celtic will play Aalborg, who is tied on 2 points, with an outside hope of advancing in the Champions League but a realistic eye towards securing a spot in the UEFA-cup.
